Understanding FAFSA Verification
Each year the Department of Education selects a portion of all applicants to complete a verification process. Verification is a process the school uses to confirm that the data reported on your FAFSA is accurate.
If your FAFSA is selected for verification, you will be required to submit documentation to verify the information reported on your FAFSA. In most cases, verifying income and tax information may not be required, however, tax transcripts or other documentation may be requested to confirm the information reported on your FAFSA. Many items can be completed online or securely uploaded. Please review the items on your To Do list in WISER for instructions on how to complete each item requested. For items that cannot be completed online, visit our forms page for the requested document. Submit all requested documents as soon as possible to finalize your financial aid award.
