Elizabeth Cardona
Latina Pathways to Political Leadership
Elizabeth Cardona’s research explored pathways to leadership for Latinas who are “change agents” primarily in western Massachusetts. She interviewed eight Latinas in diverse political positions ranging from directors of community organizations to municipal elected officials to state and federal appointees. Seeking to better understand what factors encouraged and sustained these women in their leadership roles, Cardona explored self-identity, vision, and passion, as well as other critical elements that shaped the leadership trajectories of these women. Learn more about Cardona’s project, findings, and recommendations in the English and Spanish videos below as well as her summary and presentation on the right.
