Additional Information
Paula Kosior is a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist, and has been the Orientation and Mobility (O&M) program coordinator in UMass Boston's Vision Studies program since 1998. Her responsibilities include student advising, Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP) certification coordination, and field site supervision.
Kosior works with a variety of schools and agencies across New England. She supervises O&M practicum students in their placements, and coordinates with six New England state liaisons. She also teaches three courses in the O&M program.
In addition to her work for UMass Boston, Kosior works in the Boston Public Schools as a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist. She instructs students in schools and in the greater Boston community.
Kosior has made presentations about vision education training and orientation and mobility methods across the U.S. and in Canada, New Zealand, India, South Africa, and Vietnam.
