Anne Fitzpatrick joined the UMass Boston Economics faculty in 2015. Anne's interests cover a broad range of topics on economic development, health economics, and econometrics. Currently, she teaches Health Economics and Quantitative Methods for masters students. Anne is a development economist whose work primarily focuses on health markets in developing countries and whose research uses randomized experiments in order to evaluate potential policy interventions. She has worked on issues of low quality in health markets, ranging from counterfeit (or "fake") antimalarial drugs to poor service quality in the public sector. She has also analyzed the effect of a public health insurance program in Nicaragua on children's health utilization and outcomes.
