Additional Information
Amy Vercillo was appointed by the governor of Massachusetts as one of two rehabilitation counseling representatives to the Division of Professional Licensure: Board of Registration of Allied Mental Health and Human Services in 2014. In this role, she oversees the licensing of candidates, administers and enforces regulations, reviews complaints, and disciplines violators of licensing laws and regulations.
Vercillo was previously appointed by the governor of MA as the rehabilitation representative on the 14-member Workers Compensation Advisory Council, on which she served from 1990-1998. She was the national chairperson of the Social Security vocational experts section of the International Association of Rehabilitation Providers (IARP) from 2009-2014. Since 2014, she has served as the IARP's national government relations representative. In this position, she works closely with senior management of the Social Security Administration to develop policies and procedures for vocational expert services for the administration, as well as vocational services for beneficiaries.
Since 1999, Vercillo has been one of principals of Rehabilitation and Re-Employment Inc., a private rehabilitation agency providing medical and vocational case management for individuals with disabilities. She has been qualified as a vocational rehabilitation expert in US Federal Court, Social Security Administration, US Railroad Retirement Board, Federal Workers Compensation, MA Superior and District Courts, MA Probate Court, MA Department of Industrial Accidents, and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, as well as RI, CT, NH, and ME Superior Courts.
Vercillo holds the following certifications: Licensed Rehabilitation Counselor (Massachusetts), Board Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, and Board Certified Disability Management Specialist.
