Utility Corridor & Roadway Relocation
To support the implementation of its Master Plan, UMass Boston developed a new utility corridor and roadway network.
The Utility Corridor and Roadway Relocation (UCRR) project which completed in 2019 includes:
- a new utility corridor to support future buildings and provide reliable and efficient utility services to the campus
- a new two-way roadway network that will provide various amenities including bike lanes, tree lawns, and sidewalks throughout the campus
Two-way traffic on the campus roads is one of the major UCRR changes. As part of the project, UMass Boston's existing Central Utility Plant has also been upgraded to ensure the integrity of utility systems.
The project was designed by BVH Integrated Services, Inc. and built by Bond Brothers.
