- Dorchester House Multi Service Center
- Museum of Fine Arts
- Quincy Asian Resources, Inc
- Wang YMCA of Chinatown
America Reads
UMass Boston is also an active participant in the America Reads Challenge. America Reads is a national program aimed at meeting the goal of helping every child to read by the third grade. UMass Boston has partnerships with area organizations to provide opportunities for our students to work as reading tutors and in family literacy programs. If you are interested in using your FWS eligibility to help children learn to read, contact one of our partners to find out more about their program.
Jumpstart
Jumpstart is a national early education organization working toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. Work-study students through Jumpstart inspire children to develop a love of learning. They are paired one-to-one with a preschool child to: build language and literacy skills crucial to success in school and in life; spend time reading books with a partner child; and play literacy games. Jumpstart Corps members and Team Leaders implement the Jumpstart curriculum in preschool classrooms and serve as an aid to teachers.
