Accomplishments
April 29th, 2009 University of Massachusetts Boston invited executive directors and agency decision makers from community and government programs and agencies, as well as the university community into dialogue. The purpose of the forum was to convene practitioners, community members, academicians and policy makers involved in youth violence prevention in an initial coordinated effort toward identifying a strategic, interdisciplinary approach. Faculty from various disciplines, including anthropology, psychology, nursing, education, sociology/criminal justice and English to name a just a few, demonstrated an interest and excitement about the possibility of generating a creative exchange of insights and experiences with the community. The focus of the round table discussions was

- Where are the gaps and
- What role can the university play?
October 28th, 2009 BCVI facilitated a discussion with youth from across the city of Boston. The focus of their discussions was
