As a student in the French BA program at UMass Boston, you will become Immersed in the language and culture of France. With a focus on communication skills, cultural awareness, and critical thinking, this program provides you with the tools you need to navigate a globalized world with confidence.

In this program, you will:

  • Attain advanced proficiency in French language skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking
  • Develop cultural competence through exploration of French and Francophone cultures, societies, and histories
  • Hone your critical thinking skills by analyzing and interpreting literary, cultural, and political texts in French
